Katya Gifford serves as CIO.
An Internet professional with six children, her work in the field led to concerns about the safety of her family online. She volunteered for the CyberAngels program in 1999, working directly with other parents and children who had a real need for information about privacy, security, and safety. During her time with CyberAngels, she created classes and workshops online and off - in everything from HTML to basic PC operation. She created training and educational materials for the FBI and developed extensive programs and materials for schools and parents.
Her work with educational programs led to further responsibilities within The Guardian Angels organization. Over the past 8 years, she has assumed responsibility for communications, project development and management, information management and security within the organization, and overseeing administration of educational and safety programs - tracking and maintaining measurable records. Additional duties include creating and maintaining the organization's archives, and integrating the Internet and World Wide Web into long-range and intermediate business plans.
